One Week and Counting

It’s now less than 1 week until we get handed the keys to our precious abode. It’s hard to believe we’ve been living in our shed for nearly 3 years now… 3 years next month!

We had our preliminary walk-thru on Friday – the house is a blur of little blue bits of tape for when the painters come through and do the touch-ups before handover. On the whole the items requiring attention are all quite minimal… no major faults it would seem. There has been some ‘popping’ in some rooms – this is a new term, one I’d not heard before. It refers to the nails popping out of the Gyprock. Not sure what the cause is but the plasterer is due to come on site today to have a look and make an assessment.

I think the plumber might have messed up the installation of my kitchen tap – somehow I’m not really that surprised – his track record is pretty ordinary.

We’ve got the tilers booked to come in on Monday and then the carpets on the Friday. Which means on the evening of the 8th we should be able to move our beds in and have dinner in our amazing kitchen!

It’s funny… the first two weekends that we have in our shiny new house we actually have commitments out of town… All I want to do is be in my house and start organising stuff! I’ve never been so excited about doing an inventory EVER! Until next week…
