I thought I would post a quick update on my virus shawl before we head off on our Christmas road trip. Last weekend we travelled down to Melbourne for a family wedding – a great opportunity to catch up on some crochet at this busy time of year.
As a child I spent a lot of time in the car travelling between Sydney and the Central Coast. The wind old Pacific Highway was just perfect for bringing on car sickness! Even now as an adult it sometimes grabs me, but usually only if I’m reading or concentrating too hard on something other than the road ahead – not while I’m driving… just for the record! It was a pleasant surprise to make it there and back without having to go through that horrible feeling.
I was really pleased with my progress, but at the same time it doesn’t look like much to show for 12 hours of crochet, give or take.
Tomorrow we head off on our Christmas road trip. We will be on the bikes and space will be a premium so this will be a good project to take along. Maybe I might even get to the end of the yarn ball! You can follow this an other projects yarn I’m working on through Ravelry.
I am currently working on a post that outlines all the goodies we have collected over the past six months or so to make our trip as easy as possible and cater for all manner of contingencies. We’re in the middle of a heat wave right now, however rain is forecast for the first day of our trip … oh the irony!
Less than 24 hours until we depart, best I get packing!
